Course Title: Basic Construction Skills Year 11 L2W course details for September 2010 – July 2011 Provider name: PGL Training Limited Day(s) course offered: Tuesday / Thursday Course Description: This course will give you the opportunity to sample a variety of trades whilst gaining a qualification. You will acquire practical kills in the areas of Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, Plastering, Bricklaying, Painting and Decorating and Tiling. The course is practically-based and you will produce a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your competence. There are some classroom sessions for portfolio building and to cover theory but, wherever possible, the theory is covered as part of the practical sessions. This is a good all-round qualification that will give you a valuable insight into what it is like to work in construction and will enable you to identify your preferred rade if you decide you wish to specialise in one area when you leave school.
