Course Title: Information for Students September 2011 – May 2012 Provider: Devon Youth Service – 100 Club Day(s) course offered: Tuesday / Thursday Course Description: It’s a big question but if you don’t know, that’s ok. This course offers you the chance to explore you; and everything about you. You may find out things you didn’t know about yourself and find you have skills you’ve never used. If you are interested in learning about different things to those at school and in a way that is less like being at school, then this course can be for you. Instead of teachers you have Youth Workers and you go to a Youth Centre instead of a school. We can help you learn to communicate better with those around you, how to work better with others, how to deal with difficult situations better and how to organise yourself for when you leave school. All of these skills are useful for when you get a job and want to start earning some money. We do this through team building games, art, music, discussion, workshops, outdoor activities, volunteering in the community and sport. You will have to put things onto paper, but not a massive amount and as with anything in life, there is usually some form of writing involved. So come on, come and change how you feel about yourself and the world. Quotes from previous students on this course: “Come to the 100 club it’s great fun” “I have had the opportunity to do things I would never have done before” “I have made really good friends here, it is safe and you can say how you feel” Qualification you will be entered for: Youth Achievement Award Duke of Edinburgh Award First Aid Red Cross Looking after other people’s children Creative Arts Award We can also support and provide evidence for schools who deliver ASDAN Courses that you could move on to post-16:
